My Garden by Tom Chapman
All I can offer you is my garden
It's a new thing for me you should know,
For fifteen years I have lived in this house
And many more I would like to go.
But I have never had a garden until now
When I built the fence in my backyard,
When I tore out all those hedges
And the things I needed to discard.
All the adversities of life perhaps
All the times of loss and pain,
When it seems it can't be any harder
But somehow He helps me to sustain.
I dug a long new flower bed
And on the end i put some roses,
Along my neighbors wall
Now a place for romantic poses.
Then I decorated that ugly wall
Life is too short I began to say,
When it was so easy to make it nice
And I see it every day.
I then added a pretty fountain
But there is still a lot to do,
It is missing my beloved
My gardener, is it you?
